Dr. Porter’s Fellowship Program

Every year since 2007 Dr. Porter has welcomed a “fellow” to train and work along side of him during his daily practice.  This one year program is approved by the Endourological Society and provides a comprehensive training in urology. The focus is minimally invasive advanced laproscopic, and robotic surgery, utilizing the da Vinci system.  Other areas of training include clinical, research, teaching, and administrative responsibilities of a medical practice.  Having completed over 3000 robotic assisted prostatectomies, and successfully operated more partial nephrecomies than any other surgeon in the Pacific Northwest, Dr Porter is a national and international expert.  The operating rooms at Swedish are state of the art equipped with the most advanced da VInci systems that are dedicated to achieve the best results.  When you align the best equipment, with the best surgeons, you are almost guaranteed the best training.
